The main thing for me with apps like this is that if you use an NLE like FCPX infrequently enough, you may not remember all of the keyboard shortcuts, so it's handy to have most of the necessary functions right at your fingertips. Many dislike the fact that these apps still require you to look down since there is no tactile sensation using an iPad, but for some of the main functions, like play, forward, back, and scrubbing, I don't see it being very difficult to find those buttons pretty quickly without having to look at the screen.
